Archive and Research

Considering the most recent measures aimed at containing  the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the archive activities are temporarily suspended.

The Study Centre and Communication Archive (CSAC) is a research centre of the University of Parma founded in 1968 by Professor Arturo Carlo Quintavalle. Right from the start, it concentrated on assembling a collection of fine art, photography, architectural drawings, design, fashion and graphics, as well as organizing exhibitions and publishing catalogues.

Research is one of the main activities of CSAC:

  • Internal research. Results are available through catalogs and scientific exhibitions organized entirely by CSAC
  • Research in cooperation with other scientific organizations and institutions.
  • Research conducted by external scholars on original CSAC materials.

The consultation of the archive materials is open to students, graduate students, scholars, researchers, curators and anyone interested in the archives for scientific reasons . This activity follows the rules defined by the guidelines published here and takes place in the consultation room, only by appointment. To access the funds you must send a written request to the President of the CSAC, at csac[at]unipr.it or info[at]csacparma.it, where you must specify the materials you are interested in and and the subject of your research, while undergraduate and graduate students will also need a letter from the supervisor of their thesis alongside the application. From this page you can access the digital catalog of the funds and read the complete regulations regarding consultation, loans and reproductions activities.

Service and opening hours:
Tuesday – Thursday 9.00 – 17.00
Friday 9.00 – 13.00
