A restoration and renovation of the spaces of the Abbey of Valserena is programmed this Autumn, with a view to a new opening. CSAC exhibition spaces will remain closed from Monday September 30 2019 and will reopen at the beginning of the new year, with exhibitions and activities on the occasion of Parma Italian Capital of Culture 2020.
The renewal of CSAC Archive-Museum, part of the joint project between the Municipality of Parma and the Univesity financed by Regione Emilia Romagna as part of the budget line POR FESR 2014-2020 (ASSE 5 – AZIONI 6.6.1 – 6.7.1), will consists of maintenance and restoration interventions concerning the monument, together with the creation of a new lighting system for the exhibition spaces inside the abbey church, the strengthening of the centre digital program and the creation of a new museum itinerary inside the archive, that will integrate the actual exhibition spaces inaugurated in 2015 with the Valserena Project.
The activities of the research center will continue but the consultation of the archive materials may be limited due to the work in progress.
